McCall, Butterick & Vogue sale

Nov 29, 2011

I am admittedly not a huge fan of the Big 3 pattern companies – however, having said that – they are having a huge sale today and tomorrow – all McCalls and Butterick patterns are $1.99 and all Vogue patterns are $3.99 – that’s insanely cheap. So if you’re thinking of buying some regular patterns and tweaking them for maternity time, I’d say this is the time to do it!!

After a quick look at tops and coats, these are a few of my favourites – and are ones that I don’t think would need any changing at all (ie lots of room for baby bumps!)

What do you think? Find any bargains?

  • I made the McCall’s cape! Here’s a link to my blog post about it:

    It’s a perfect maternity piece!

    • Oh Erica that is gorgeous!! you did such a beautiful job! And I’m thrilled to hear that it works well as maternity wear, it really caught my eye on the website :)

      Thanks for sharing your creation!

  • Thanks for sharing! This is such a great price. I bought 3 patterns, 2 of them ones you suggested above. I make a ton for my kids but hardly anything for myself so I’m excited to try these. The only thing I’d tell others like me who don’t sew from “official” patterns very often is to check out their sizing chart…when not pregnant, I’m tall and of normal weight and wear a 10/medium usually. Based on my measurements, especially bust measurement, they’d call me a size 16 so I had to order the larger patterns.

    • Yay! You are so welcome! I’m so glad you managed to get some good bargains! I honestly have the same issues as you – their sizing is just weird, the sizes don’t match up with ready to wear, and i find that when i cut the size they suggest then the garment ends up 2 sizes too big – it’s so frustrating!!! But hey, for that price, I’m willing to deal with some quirks hehehe

      Happy sewing hun!! xoxo

  • Good suggestions! I was just pouring over the pattern books earlier this week in search of stuff I could alter into maternity. I may have to get that M6347 pattern. Very cute and would be perfect for a summer date dress. :)
