Basic guide to sewing with stretch fabrics

I’ve noticed that a lot of people get really scared about sewing stretchy fabrics. I was too until I gave it a try a few years ago – and you know what? It’s not so hard! Really!!
Basically the only trick is to use stitches that will maintain the stretch of the fabric. There are just a few simple techniques you need to know, and then you’re set!
Preggo Meggo – my baby bump recap
Hubby and I very diligently took baby bump photos every few weeks during my pregnancy (further apart at the beginning and closer together at the end), so we could see how my bump grew.
It was soooooo fun, and looking back I’m totally astounded by how much my body changed! If you are pregnant or hope to be sometime in the future, I highly recommend taking periodical photos! It also has the added benefit of keeping family that are far away up to date with your pregnancy (in fact I got many phone calls from my mom reminding me to take the photos because I kept forgetting!!)
It was incredibly easy – I wore the same top each week, just stood up against a plain white wall, and we marked a spot on the floor so that we too the photos from the same place every week. That’s it.
And though I adamantly denied it both times, my shirt colour does mean something. When I found out I was pregnant with my daughter I wore a pink shirt in all the photos because I was so convinced she was girl, and this time I wore a blue shirt because I was sure it was a boy. I was right both times – of course it could just be that I got lucky with my guesses twice (there is a 1 in 2 chance!), but I’ve decided to believe I had some sort of mom intuition!!
Anyway, can you guys believe how much my belly grew?? And that my 9lb little boy actually fitted in there?? It’s amazing!
