Mommy Spotlight: Camp Patton

Greetings readers and Monday morning!
My name is Grace from over at Camp Patton and I’m so grateful to Megan for letting me pop in this morning to share and spread some maternity wares wealth!
I’m 31 weeks pregnant with our second baby that is due 13 months after our first baby, Julia, was born. We’re so excited for the new addition and for Julia to be a big sister but I so feel like I’ve been wearing maternity clothes for the vast majority of the past several months! With my first pregnancy I was a bit of a naive novice and only purchased and wore maternity clothes as soon as I grew out of my regular clothing. This time around, I’ve been a little bit more adventurous with my sewing machine and the experimented with the potential of larger clothing from my local Goodwill. Some examples:
I found this H&M dress complete with bedazzled black buttons (albeit one missing and replaced with a safety pin at the tippy top) and loved the dark blue color and material but the fit made me look like a bell. I simply flipped the dress inside out and sewed the row of buttons out, tightened up the side seams, added an empire waist defining scarf from the same Goodwill run

These green pants are from Target maternity and I was lucky enough to find them for a steal at the Goodwill with the tags still attached. They scored a 0 in the flattering department upon my initial try on so I just trimmed them down to almost skinny pants and simply cuffed the bottoms

I’ve also gotten creative and thieved a few things from the thrifted section of my husband’s closet. No alterations necessary with the growing belly!

Thank you again to the lovely and talented Megan for having me today!
I hope you’ll Stop by Camp Patton, say hello and enter my little giveaway to win a homemade nursing cover this week!

Grace, you are my fave sewin’ pregnant lady who ever lived. Truly!
Love your alterations! Especially the idea of sewing out the middle of the dress!
